Sometimes a photo needs a little help. Take the
photo shown above, for example.
A feature of the home being photographed is a large built-in
wood stove – pretty obvious, huh. The problem is that it
looks cold and messy. That morning after look. It’s hard to imagine this shot having the positive
effect on a potential buyer that the agent wanted. This is where a little
post-production Photoshop work helps out.
The agent wanted the photo to evoke a feeling of warmth and romance. Of course we could have actually created a fire, but that option had a number of downsides to it. We opted to create the look we wanted in Photoshop. The result is the photo shown below.
There’s a limit to what you should consider doing in Photoshop – it’s
important that the changes don’t misrepresent the property. For example,
if power lines are in an exterior shot, they must not be removed.
